"Aejee bhai aavjo, Ek vrukh vaavjo!"
A few months back we had planted 200 trees as a part of our urban re-forestation
project. This monday we will water these trees and plant another 200 trees
and other smaller shrubs to develop the ecosystem of this area.
'To
forget how to dig the earth and tend the soil is to forget ourselves.'
- Mahatma Gandhi
In Ahmedabad today
the traffic is overflowing. Pollution is having long term impacts. Successive
reports show that even the scientists have underestimated the speed at
which the global climate is being destabilized. Humongous malls
and buildings are sweeping away the merely left green belts of our beloved
city.
Results: An abnormal relationship between man and nature.
A negative effect on our own well-being, mentally, physically as well
as socially. The more we get disconnected with nature, more we feel disassociated
from our own inner spirit.
What can we do about it?
As friends we care for nature and feel deep gratitude for the mother earth,
which sustains and nourishes our body, mind and inner spirit.
We have partnered up with an organization called
100% Sambhav in this beautiful task. Volunteers
are the life of this campaign, so please try your best to come ahead and
help out. We will need about 30 people to assist with digging and
planting this monday.
